Services at Aldersgate United Methodist Church offer inspirational sermons, heartening music and an opportunity for worshippers to respond to God's love and give thanks for the gift of His Son. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month at all three services. Seasonal services of worship are held during Lent, Advent and Christmas.

Church Membership
Members of Aldersgate invite and welcome all persons who profess their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord to become members of the church. You may join the church upon your profession of faith or by transferring your membership from another church. Anyone wishing to become a member of Aldersgate, or desiring information about the process of becoming a member, is urged to contact one of the pastors.
The Pastor's Membership Class meets for four weeks several times a year to prepare persons interested in becoming members of Aldersgate or learning more about the Methodist beliefs.
Opportunities to Serve During Worship
- Lay Readers...are members of the congregation who take part in the worship service by offering the invocation and reading the Scripture lesson.
- Ushers...serve one month at a time, facilitating worship services and collecting the offering. All members are welcome to take part.
- Greeters...welcome visitors and members entering the church, directing them to Sunday School classes, nurseries or answering questions.
- Acolytes...light the altar candles, lead the processional and assist the pastors at the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. traditional services. Children in grades 5 - 9 are welcome to participate, following training by the acolyte leader. This is a meaningful way for young people to learn the symbolism of the church and our faith.
- Prayer Team...individuals who are available during the 11:00 a.m. contemporary service to pray with people at the altar during the close of the service.
- Sound/Media Technicians...operate the sound and media system during worship services, taping the service for outreach programs. Training sessions on operating the equipment are offered periodically.
If you are interested in serving in one of these areas, contact the church office via email or call (706) 733-4416.
