Aldersgate offers many avenues of Christian education through music, including adult, youth and children's choirs and hand bells; as well as a praise band. Director of Music Ministries, Linda Bradberry, is always happy to talk with anyone about our music program and how you can be involved. CHANCEL CHOIR (Adults)...
The Chancel Choir is a group of committed, eager, hardworking, fun-loving worship leaders who sing each Sunday for 11:00 a.m. traditional worship and first Sundays for 8:30 & 11:00 a.m. traditional worship. Advent / Christmas and Lent / Easter are special highlights in the singing year. A nursery is available for rehearsals.
ENSEMBLE & SOLO...
There are worship services, weddings, funerals and outreach opportunities throughout the year.
ALDERSGATE YOUTH SINGERS (6-12 Grades)...
The Aldersgate Youth Choir participates in worship services, regional festivals, and seasonal music.
YOUTH PRAISE BAND...
The Youth praise band jams on Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m. in the Youth Lounge. In addition to providing the music on Sunday nights, they also lead worship at various times throughout the year at the 11:00 contemporary service in the FLC.
TRAINING CHOIR (K-2nd Grade)...
Training Choir is designed for singers to discover, understand, learn and experience worship through church music. Group singing activities strengthen listening skills. At mid year, singers should be able to sing both independently and with others, keep a steady beat and follow non-verbal musical instructions.
ALDERSGATE SINGERS CHOIR (3-5 Grades)...
The Aldersgate Singers Choir actively participates in worship services and prepares special programs for Christmas and Easter. The liturgical year will be celebrated through hymns & psalms, songs & symbols. At mid year, singers should be able to recognize and sing liturgical responses used in weekly worship, sing independently and in small groups. Handbells are introduced.
HANDBELL CHOIR...
Aldersgate has three octaves of handbells for adult ringers and youngsters (grades 4 & 5) interested in more advanced ringing.
GOOD NEWS GOSPEL SINGERS...
The Good News Gospel Singers specializes in gospel hymns and songs. They sing every second Sunday for the 8:30 a.m. traditional worship service. Outreach includes concerts at various churches and organizations. They meet on Sunday afternoons for rehearsal in the Choir Room.
JOYFUL NOISE (Instrumental)...
Joyful Noise is Aldersgate's own "bluegrass & gospel band." They rehearse just for the fun of it and play for special camp meetings, worship services, and accompany the Good News Gospel Singers on road trips.
ALDERSGATE PRAISE BAND (Instrumental & Vocal)...
The Aldersgate Praise Band facilitates worship at the 11:00 a.m. contemporary service with contemporary Christian music as well as traditional hymns. The band is composed of vocalists, guitars, keyboards, percussion and a variety of other instruments. They meet on Wednesdays from 7-8:30 p.m. in the FLC for rehearsals.
