DISCIPLE Bible Studies...
Educational Objectives

What are God’s Promises? What are God’s truths for my life? What Does God expect of me? Why did Jesus die on the cross for me? How powerful is the Holy Spirit? How are Christians related to the Jews of the Old and New Testaments? When does the light bulb turn on? What is my personal ministry? Looking for answers…why not consider a DISCIPLE Bible Study. For information on Disciple studies, see www.cokesbury.com, search "Disciple."

DISCIPLE I...
Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study. A 34-week course that encourages you to read through the entire bible and to gain insight into God’s plan and design for you and all mankind. DISCIPLE I calls on persons to submit themselves to examination by Scripture, to put themselves under the power of God’s word, and to be changed by God’s word. (Classes: Sundays, 4-6 p.m.)

DISCIPLE II...
Into The Word, Into The World. A 32-week course that proclaims the transforming power of Scripture. Connects the inner life and the outer life; encourages the practice of spiritual disciplines arising out of Scripture for the purpose of changing habits and transforming lives. Approaches all experiences of life as opportunities for faithful witness and service. Continues to call clergy and laity to serious, disciplined Bible study that will result in development of biblically nourished servant/leaders. (Classes: Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 p.m.)

DISCIPLE III...
Remember Who You Are. A 32-week course that concentrates on the Old Testament prophets and the letters of Paul, calling the readers and hearers back to their God and to a sense of who they are as a "set apart" people. Calls for willingness to stand under the judgment of what the prophets have to say. Emphasizes the centrality of the command to love God and neighbor. Confronts the persistent questions of the prophets and Paul: What are the priorities in your life? What are the priorities in society? Understands Bible study as a call to repentance understood in the biblical sense – to change direction, to turn life toward God’s will. (New Study, TBA)

DISCIPLE IV...
Under the Tree of Life. This 32-week course bring the disciple to a defining moment in his/her life. That the book of Revelation addresses the church today as it did in the early church; that a comfortable church may be unable to recognize the significant of God’s victory; that worship of God is Revelation’s answer to a church that has accommodated to the culture and society of today; that in any authentic experience of worship, the worshiper is confronted by God. You must have completed DISCIPLE I or YOUTH DISCIPLE before taking this class. (New Study, TBA)

Other Studies...

Mitchell class members consider themselves as mature adults who have been together for many years. The goal of the class is to enhance our knowledge of the Bible and its teachings, support each other in our Christian walk, and enjoy Christian fellowship on Sundays and through socializing with each other.
