Circles:
Margaret Pierce Circle
We are a group of senior citizens meeting the 2nd Monday of every month for lunch at a restaurant. One member selects the restaurant, makes arrangements and prepares the agenda. Our mission project is supporting a girl at Girls, Inc., especially on her birthday and Christmas. We pledge and give one-fourth to support the Council.
Mary Martha Circle
We meet in members homes the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. We are currently studying the book When Women Long for Rest by Cindi McMenamin, and welcome other ladies in the church to join us. Our meetings give us the opportunity to learn and grow in our faith. Mary Marthas can identify with the famous sisters in the Gospels from whom we get our name. We strive to balance sitting at the feet of Jesus with performing the duties of the church. Through laughter and tears, we stay connected to God and each other. We support local missions including Heritage Academy and SAFE Homes of Augusta.
Ruth JOY Circle
We are a diverse group of women of many ages, focusing on prayer, fellowship and spiritual growth. Our meetings are held the 1st Friday of each month from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Youth Lounge, with bruch provided. We have quarterly mission projects geared toward involving the whole family. A nursery is provided for anyone who may have little ones.
Susanna Wesley Circle
We are a group of friends who support each other and meet the 4th Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Many of our members are employed, so we meet at night, either in the home of a member or with a hostess in the church parlor. Some of our members are recently retired and some are having grandbabies, so we enjoy passing the pictures around. We choose a book for study each year and take turns leading a 20 - 25 minute lesson. Some of our recent circle projects have been helping to redecorate SAFE Homes, providing books for the children's playroom, providing Christmas gifts for AUM children, making meals for the families of burn victims at the Burn Unit of Doctor's Hospital, and making a contribution to Lyndale School for their transportation to Special Olympics. We enjoy a special Christmas dinner meeting in the home of a member and go out to dinner for our meeting once during the summer.
Daughters of Dorcas
We are a "meet and eat" circle meeting the 2nd Thursday of each month at a local restaurant where we discuss circle business and socialize over brunch. Historically we have supported the Interfaith Hospitality Network Daycare Center by providing their most needed supply for the year. We also support the Department of Family and Child Services by providing clothes carriers, stuffed animals, and snacks for the children who are being placed in foster care. The members of our circle have teenage and young adult children, diverse occupations, and tends toward volunteering in the community. We have fun, talk and support each other as Christian sisters.
